Our favorite place to ride our motorcycle in Texas, hands down, is Big Bend National Park. Big Bend is a park rugged with geographical contrasts. Big Bend is comprised of 1,252 square miles of land with miles and miles of scenic motorcycle roads. Some of the geography includes the Rio Grande River, the Chihuahuan Desert, the peaks of the Chisos Mountains, the cool climate of the Chisos Basin and the limestone outcrops of Persimmon Gap and Boquillas Canyon. There are scenic photo opportunities at every turn. We have taken many beautiful photograph while there. There is one particular picture Janet took that we like the best. Every time we see it we would sometimes comment that it would make a great painting. The picture is of Yucca at Chisos Basin with Mt. Casa Grande in background.
Janet took the comment about the picture to heart. Janet had an artist friend (Floyd Riley) do a painting from the picture. The painting turned out very well and was all we had hoped it would be. A special thanks to Floyd for a great job.
